Happy New Year from ARAPA!
This year is a new opportunity to continue to strengthen the PAs of Arkansas. This is an exciting time to be a PA, with continuing growth and opportunity.
I am sure many of you, as ourselves, have pressing issues that we would like to see change for our practice, profession and organization.
There are hot topics on the national level like the NCCPA and the CME/recertification process, specialty certification requirements, and the newly proposed discussion from AAPA for Full Practice Authority. Those affect our profession, as do our state level issues.
I want to hear from you. I have included a survey on our website to gather our member concerns. What issues do you want to address? Is it legislative issues – getting our PA name on as many documents/bills as we can, is it prescriptive rights? Perhaps it is reimbursement issues with state, federal or private insurers? Getting involved in precepting PA students from our fine PA schools or others or a network to allow pre-PA students to shadow. Is it CME options as a live meeting or online resources. Perhaps it is socializing with your fellow Arkansas PAs, or manyother issues.
Let your voice be known. ARAPA NEEDS members, we NEED volunteers and we NEED your financial membership contribution to function at the best of our capability to strengthen Arkansas PAs.
I look forward to working with each of you over the next year. I have been involved in ARAPA for 7 years and, although change is sometimes slow, we are moving forward and changes are happening. So we ask your support and membership for 2017.
